1 egg white<br />
dash of salt<br />
1 cup brown sugar<br />
1 1/2 cup pecan halves</p>
<p>Instruction:<br />
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.  Grease cookie sheet well.  In mixing bowl, beat egg white &#038; salt to soft peaks, add sugar and beat until stiff &#038; glossy.  Fold in nuts.  Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet 3&#8243; apart.  Bake for 30 minutes.  Remove at once from baking pan onto waxed paper to cool.</p>

2 cups raisins<br />

Mix:<br />

<p>Instruction:<br />
Mix the dry ingredients with eggs &#038; shortening, then mix with raisins &#038; water, add vanilla.</p>
<p>Bake in cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.<br />
Add frosting while hot.</p>
<p>Frosting:  melt 3-4 tbsp. butter or margarine, add 1 cup powdered sugar &#038; enough water to spread easily.</p>
<p>Cut into bars &#038; serve.</p>

3/4 cup butter<br />
2 tbsp. water<br />
2 eggs<br />

<p>Sift together:<br />
2 1/2 cup flour<br />
1 tsp. baking powder<br />
1/4 tsp. salt</p>
<p>1 cup pecans chopped<br />
1 cup dates chopped<br />
1 cup coconut flakes<br />
1 lb orange slices cut small.</p>
<p>Instruction:<br />
Mix other ingredients together.  Drop with teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.<br />
Dredge orange slices in flour mixture.  Add dredged orange slices on top. Bake at 350 for 15 min.  Makes 100 cookies.</p>

<p>Notes: This recipe is from Lillian Bartlett to Dora Meyer.  She used double amount of raisins &#038; nuts.  Can also use chopped dates &#038; currants. The original recipe called for 2 tsp. cinnamon.</p>
