I would be happy to see the weekend over! It has been hot and muggy and going back to work means 8.5 hours in air conditioning!

It has been so hot that my microwave gave it’s last hurrah this evening after cooking some sweet potatoes. The refridgerator has been leaking water all over the floor… someone please tell me this nightmare will end!

I did however get a decent nights sleep sat night after the rain, but that was short lived. I am doing my best to remain positive, but some days just kick me in the patootie a bit too hard.

Brian over at An Audience of One brought me back to reality this evening. When you sit and list the good and the bad things in your life it tends to get a bit depressing from my perspective. Something just has to give and I hope it is not my sanity.

I still need your recipe donations. There is now a recipe submission form on the site. Please drop by there and send me a shout out. If you donate you will be listed as a contributor on the blog.

We still need art submissions for the cover and dedication page. I have received some great ones so far but we can always use more! There have been no cover art submissions as of yet.

I will be updating the cookbook blog more with posts about the contests and voting times. You can help by promoting it on your blogs as well. As I said before, we can’t do this without you!

It has done did it. I feel like I have melted my way into nothingness.

I have no energy. I feel like blech.

No sleep… cuz its too damn hot! It’s hot I tell you! Blazing depths of hell hot. It is so friggin hot that someone actually baked cookies on the hood of their car! It is fry an egg on the pavement hot.

Got ice? Got air? Got a pool? Count your blessing if you do!

I am gonna go take a longggggggg cold shower now. If you don’t hear from me again you’ll know I went down the drain with the shower water…

Friday:

• Worked and enjoyed airconditioning.
• Did not want to go home.
• Picked up WH @ 5pm and sweated in Jeep because “running air takes too much gas”.
• Got home and melted in almost 100 degree house.
• Showered with cold water.
• Played poker and stayed up late waiting for house to cool. No such luck.
• Went to bed, alone, and melted during night hours.

Saturday:

• Woke up in puddle of previously personal body fluids.
• Took cold shower.
• Picked up after boys.
• Laundry
• Melted in 97+ house.
• Took cold shower.
• Played poker a little.
• Went to see the movie “Cars”.
• Enjoyed airconditioning.
• Did not want to leave.
• Ate really late meal at Waffle House, cuz oven would have made house hotter.
• Watched WH squirm when cop pulled us over at 1am for tail light out.
• Waited another 30 mins while boys fixed light.
• Home and 2 or 3 hours of poker waiting for house to cool off.
• Went to bed, alone, and melted during night hours.

Sunday:

• Woke up in puddle of previously personal body fluids.
• Took cold shower.
• Picked up after boys.
• Laundry
• Played poker.
• Blogged.
• Prayed for rain.
• Got none.
• Melted in 90+ degree house.
• Took cold shower.
• Played 2 or 3 hours of poker waiting for house to cool off.
• Finally got rain.
• Yay.
• Went to bed, alone, and melted during night hours.

Monday:

• Woke up in puddle of previously personal body fluids.
• Berated self for staying up late waiting for house to cool.
• Took cold shower.
• Went to work.
• Worked 4 hours without break.
• Caught up invoices.
• Yawned… lots.
• Went home and lost more personal body fluids in hot Jeep.
• Took cold shower.
• Read a few blogs.
• Wanted nap but got dragged off to step daughters for dinner.
• Boys and all went swimming in pool in her complex.
• Could not go (no swim wear).
• Wanted to cry but fell asleep.
• Slept hard.
• Ate.
• Yawned.
• Came home to hot house and melted.
• Listened to thunder and prayed for rain.
• Got none.
• Went to bed and melted off more poundage.

Tuesday:

• Woke up in puddle of previously personal body fluids.
• Took cold shower.
• Laundry.
• Poker.
• Blogged.
• Got dragged off to step-daughters house for fireworks display near her house.
• Ate.
• Got sleepy.
• Stayed awake (barely).
• Watched fireworks from step-daughters parking lot.
• Melted in humid air.
• Oooo’ed and Awww’ed
• Got ate up by mosquito’s.
• Left right after display was over.
• Mistake.
• HUGE mistake.
• Took over an hour to drive home.
• We live 15-20 mins away.
• Watched bunches of idiots speed and get pulled over.
• Prayed for rain.
• Got some!
• Came home to hot house.
• Took cold shower.
• Passed out.

And my A/C is on the fritz! Sigh!
