He was great. I saw him a couple times down here in Albuquerque. He used to be the Sheriff of nearby Bosque Farms so he’d come to visit friends and family. The first time I was honored to speak with him and shake his hand. He gave me an autograph and a piece of chocolate cake that they were cutting up in honor of their road manager’s last show with them.
I remember sitting 10 feet away from him at the Rainbow club listening to him play.
