Memorial Day

From Seattle to Bangor,
Our boys have answered the call,
From Key West to San Diego,
They have come to give their all.

From all points, north and south,
And many places in between,
Their courage has ended all doubt,
A nation united has been seen.

Our precious fathers and sons,
Have stepped forward one and all,
With them mothers and daughters,
Fighting to keep tyrants small.

From all points, north and south,
And many places in between,
Their courage has ended all doubt,
A nation united has been seen.

On this day of remembrance,
When our country heeded the call,
A prayer to those come and gone,
The red, white and blue stands tall.

From all points, north and south,
And many places in between,
Their courage has ended all doubt,
A nation united has been seen.

For Carlo, Love ya darlin’:

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand,
I don’t care, I’m still free,
You can’t take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black,
Tell ‘em I ain’t comin’ back,
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can’t take the sky from me.

There’s no place I can be,
Since I found serenity,
But you can’t take the sky from me.

Lyrics from Firefly’s opening song.

Thank you for your service.

A lovely tribute, Phoenix. Tomorrow I will be remembering Gary Johnston who died in January and Ryan Collins, who’s service is on Tuesday. They are from two small towns in our community. I will also know the blessing of having my own son home safe.

I almost forgot that today is Memorial day. I make it a point to stop and remember that without the generations before me, I would have never had the opportunities to do what I am doing.

To all the veterans that served before me, Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

To all the servicemembers serving with me, Thank you for your commitment and your professionalism.

To all those that support the military, Thank you, we never expected this kind of support and it makes us both proud and humble.
