Over the last thirty eight years and ten days I have discovered something about women. Yes, I know, you like to remain a mystery to men, thereby keeping us on our toes, but hold on a minute, because this is a man giving away men’s secrets. You see, every woman I have ever met has at least one (usually many) physical features that make her pretty in one way or another. This is usually what men (even me) notice first. However (comma), no matter how pretty a woman is, there are certain things that can elevate her into truly beautiful. These are not what most women would deem “typical,†but I call it the soul and personality shining through.
Confidence, joy, honesty. Not typical, but very attractive. A beautiful woman has the confidence to realize that nobody is perfect, and if somebody doesn’t like her, that’s their problem, not hers. Nothing can light up someone’s face like true joy, and if one is able to express it, then one shows how beautiful one is. Honesty is vital to beauty, not conversational honesty, but the honesty that comes from within. If one is in a bad relationship for the relationship, then being honest and true to one’s self requires that it end. This, along with confidence, can change the way a person looks simply through bearing.
OK, I will admit that there is probably a corollary here that these same traits would make a man more attractive, but since I don’t look at men the same way, that’s for those that find men attractive to determine.
Please, ladies, be true to yourselves. If you are having trouble, bring it up; if you are happy, show it; if you are angry, talk about it; there is no other way for a man to figure it out, we are not subtle creatures. I don’t want a woman that will do whatever I say, nor do I want one that refuses to do anything with me. I want a partner whom I can meet half-way and truly enjoy the relationship.

These things apply both ways Carlo. We all have our lessons to learn and no one can walk our walk but us.
I find honesty, a sharing nature, and a man who is not afraid to show his emotions the most attractive sort. I have never gone with the exterior looks, but with what I saw on the inside. This does not mean that an attractive man hasn’t turned my head… but if we all stopped looking, then we might as well call the coroner. It is what you do after looking that is more important. I find self control the most attractive of all.
You are SO HOT!!! I have always thought that a well-balanced air of self-confidence and security is the most attractive feature of both men and women! (Yes, I am secure enough in my femininity to admit when another woman is attractive…) Being true to oneself is the most difficult, yet most rewarding, gift in life. It’s rare to hear much appreciation for anything other than physical “beauty” these days… I’m glad to hear that it’s still out there!
that is brilliant and on point.
Beauty
it is all around and inside us
LET your light shine, people
Please come see the new neighbors I pictured on my blog
Carlo, I’m glad you are home spending some time with your daughter. Best wishes you to you in life and love…and thank you again for your service.
Kelli,
Be careful when you call ME hot… Ask Phoenix and Gidget, I get worked up when a woman says she finds me attractive…
Hell, Carlo, you are HOT… lol Gidge and I have told you that a hundred times… albeit for our own selfish reasons. Heh! *wink*
You both just like making this shy guy blush, that’s all.
I’m still waiting to see that shy guy, Carlo. You ARE too HOT! Phoenix and I say so, so that’s the way it is. Besides, just one look behind those sunglasses and BAM, Hotness.
