I can actually access wordpress on my own, now that I have gotten my password stuff right!YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
Well, I actually have a slow day going, and I decided to browse my favorite blog. Lo and behold! There is a new name on the left! Welcome to our house, Kelli. I hope that you find it as comfortable as I do.
Phoenix, we may need to put in another room to house all of the writing tables.
OK, on to the post.
This is going to be a rave review of my all-time favorite television show that was cancelled half-way into its first season; then it became a cult hit on DVD; then it was made into a “Big Damn Movie.â€
This little TV show was called “Firefly.†It is a show that never got the push that it should have, since it was shown out of order, yet, there are thousands of fans out there trying to recruit more. After it was cancelled, the creator and producers just couldn’t let it die, and they found a way to make “Serenity.â€
OK, OK, it IS science-fiction, but it’s the same story that is told every year in many movies. “Serenity†(the space ship) is Captain Malcolm Reynolds’ freedom (sounds like “Pirates of the Caribbean†to me…); the people that are aboard are his crew and his family. There are arguments, fights, disagreements, and betrayals, yet, he holds them all together with his love for them and their love for the ship.
I love the show for the same reason that I love people (in general). There were nine characters, plus the ship herself, and they all have secrets and troubles and issues. It is the slow unraveling of the personal stories and mysteries that gets me. That and the writing is UN-(inappropriate curse word)-believably well done.
I have said before that I don’t like television that much. That is probably because TV keeps cancelling shows like “Firefly†but keeps so-called reality shows.
If you want to revel in a great story, then get “Firefly,†and, when you finish the series, go get “Serenity†and see the final end of the story…
Carlo says, “Check it out!” Again and again and again and again and again, gorrammit!

Author’s Note I know that I rambled a good bit, and it isn’t the greatest post, but that’s how my mind is (or isn’t) working today…

Good to see more postings on this blog…….and Carlo, although I don’t know about that show, will certainly look it up and have a view.
You must be having more time on your hands for posting, and not out fighting for our country? God keep you and our troops safe over there…..prayers for all.
Welcome Kelli & Gidget.
I enjoyed your post even though I have no clue what you are talking about..
Have a wonderful day!
Toodles
I have to say, as not a HUGE sci-fi fan, Serenity was a fantastic movie. Still waiting to see the TV series, but I’m sure it’ll be just as good. Thanks Carlo!
