From Kelli – her Grandma:
Good News! Raven had an MRI done last week – the tumor has shrunk from the size of a fist to the size of a gumball. (The little ones… not the giant gobstopper-size!!!) The doctors are amazed with how well it has responded to the chemo!
We will know more about the radiation schedule after today’s doctor’s appt.; she may or may not be having treatments over the holidays, but I will let you know. She’s doing great without the trachea. They have a bandage over the hole, and she likes to blow it in and out like a toad frog. (It’s really quite humorous!)
Again, thanks for the thoughts and prayers… they are obviously working!I don’t have any photos this time, but I’m sure we will over the holidays!
And because you might not see this from the comment she left you all…
I finally sat down to read through some of the responses to the “Raven Updates”… My goodness!!! I honestly don’t know what to say, other than God Bless every one of you! Raven is my granddaughter, and I know how very special she is, but to see how many other lives she has touched without having met… I am truly overwhelmed at how blessed we all are! Thank you so very much for all of the thoughts and prayers!
~Remember the picture of the storm I put up a few days ago?
Well there was a purpose for it… and I can’t say anything yet… but lets just say that the storm is brewing thicker but the silver lining is just around the corner!
~Imagine this:
My Aunt is just winding down from a visit from her favorite niece (moi) and her hubby. She has shown us a great evening with conversation and good eats. We have left already and she has started cleaning up when she hears a blood curdling scream from one of her cats. This poor baby had jumped up on the counter to sniff out all the good smells when she got caught up in a fly strip. She panics and ends up with it wrapped all around her! A chase ensued and a lot of mayhem occurred.
It ended up where she had to clip the sticky from her fur to get it all gone! This stuff is messy to begin with. Does anyone have a recipe for glue removal from fur? By the way – it had no poisons in it – Thank goodness!
~A new twist to your typical farmer joke…
A Nebraska farmer got in his pickup and drove to a neighboring farm and knocked at the farmhouse door. A young boy about 9 opened the door.
“Is yer Dad home?” the farmer asked.
“No sir, he ain’t,” the boy replied “He went into town.”
“Well,” said the farmer, “is yer Mom here?”
“No, sir, she ain’t here neither. She went into town with Dad.”
“How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?”
“He went with Mom and Dad.”
The farmer stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other and mumbling to himself.
“Is there anything I can do fer ya?” the boy asked politely.
“I knows where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one. Or maybe I could take a message fer Dad.”
“Well,” said the farmer uncomfortably, “I really wanted to talk to yer Dad. It’s about your brother Howard getting my daughter Pearly Mae pregnant.”
The boy considered for a moment, “You would have to talk to Pa about that,” he finally conceded. “If it helps you any, I know that Pa charges $50 for the bull and $25 for the hog, but, I really don’t know how much he gets fer Howard.”

That is good news about Raven! Bless her heart, sounds like she has a sense of humor in addition to being such a brave girl.
Cute joke – I actually hadn’t heard that one!
i love it! best laugh i’ve had all day.
I am so THRILLED about Raven!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYYAYAYAYAYAY
You made my day with this post. She’s gotten into my heart just as Kayla did.
Now, let’s get Carlo and Amanda home and if I could I’d get Teresa’s ex hubby’s orders for Iraq cancelled.
Merry Christmas!
Great news about Raven. I wish her a Merry Christmas and a healthy new year.
This is awesome news about Raven. Praise God the tumor is shrinking. I didn’t know anything about this but I will pray for her most definitely
