I am going to promote something entirely amazing here… Ebay Auctions Vs Yahoo Auctions. One of these charges the seller a fairly high fee per auction and the other is completely free. One is a household word and the other is virtually unknown. This, my friends, is a travesty and I plan on spreading the word.
Ebay is THE auction place and they charge a listing fee per item listed to the seller. This fee can get to be quite hefty if your item does not sell after the second time put back on auction. They also have a way to reduce this fee, but that comes at a price as well. A monthly fee is charged and you can put your items in a “store” but those items are pretty much lost to the potential buyer unless they are using the search feature for your particular item.
They can also be quite contrary to the seller in other ways. I had something happen on another site and it fed over into Ebay. I lost my account on both sites. I have explained the circumstances to both and have been refused reinstatement. Some of you may remember my hacking story. There are also horror stories of accounts being frozen and monies frozen and never returned. I have read many things that have turned me away from trying to work back to these particular two sites.
I found another site that works the same way as Ebay and it is totally free to use. They have customer ratings and this is your key to safety. The site reads the same and the searches are the same, but it is FREE to use. Yahoo Auctions is the way to go for any seller and potential buyer. Would you not feel better knowing that the seller is getting 100% of their sales? I know I would.
I have placed an icon to my sellers booth over in my side bar. I have not listed much yet, compared to the amount of things I have to sell. There is room for improvement as far as in the way searching product. I could get a merchant account… but I am not ready to do so yet. That part costs money, but the sale itself is still free to post. This eliminates a cost that can build up to impossible amounts that can eat your profits down to zero.
Please spread the word about Yahoo Auctions. You won’t be sorry and you will be doing sellers there a wonderful service. Use caution any time you buy from someone. Read the feedback and then make your decision to buy or not. There will always be the dishonest seller… but there are many more who are honest and just trying to make some extra dough to get them through the rough times. I am one of those.

Thanx for the tip! I’ll check it out.
Too cool…..wish I had the energy to do that.
When I get young again, will try it.
Thanks for the info. I’m going to be trying to hawk a rather large comic book collection in the near future, and this might come in handy.
