The boy went to his first semi-formal dance this evening. Today was their homecoming game, which they won 21-0! He debated about going to this dance all week and I kept at him to let me know if he was going AND if he was going to ask anyone to the dance. He decided last minute (today) to go and he was going stag. Thank goodness I didn’t have to go hunt up a corsage last minute!
He got all decked out tonight in black pinstriped pants, black dress shoes, a grey shirt and a nice striped tie with clip. His dad donated a jacket and the pants, but he decided to not wear the jacket once we got there. We of course had to fuss at him over his hair… with him finally conceding to let me brush it and put some mens dry hair spray on it. He looked all grown up.
It just comes too darn fast… turning into a man before I am ready. Before long he will be asking girls out and driving his own car. I am already suffering from premature empty nest syndrome. It will be a happy and sad day for this old woman when he is ready to go out and hit the world on his own. He will won’t need me anymore… that is the sad part. The happy part is I will finally be able to do what I want for a change, but I am afraid that I will be too darn old to do all the things I have dreamt of. Cie la vie.
When we get the pictures back I will post one of my almost grown boy. Time flies when it comes to your kids.

Re: Carlo. I have not heard from him in over two weeks. He has been in on the Patriot Guard site and left a message there, but that was back on the 10th. He send me a quick note saying he was OK, but felt he was stuck in the movie Ground Hog Day.
He just doesn’t seem to realise what the silence does to us worrying about him back home. Sometimes I catch myself checking the latest casualty lists and then chastise myself for being so morbid. I can’t help it… the not knowing is hell.
Carlo, if you read this… check in k? We are all anxious to hear from you!

OOOOHHHH, cannot wait to see the pictures when you get them. You are right, he’s growing up too quick.
Know Carlo is ok, just busy.
each sunday we pray for the president and pray for the troops, it helps me to mention Carlo, that way it makes it moe real. God, watch out for Carlo today, and every day. Keep him safe and bring him back whole, and healthy.
awww man, that is fast. I just posted a pic of my 4 y/o when he was 3 thinking of how fast it goes. I can’t imagine dances and girlfriends.
I hate to think back to what passed for my homecoming dance waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back then…and best wishes to Carlo!
