Sigh… Gone but not forgotten.

I am slightly peeved

no…

upset

no that’s not it either…

saddened

Yea. that’s it!

saddened that my previous post was passed on as it was. What happened to the patriotism that pulled us all together after 9-11? If it was read by a bunch of you – well, I wouldn’t know as only a bare 2 of you commented. Yes, deeply saddened.

Today was a bad day and that is putting it mildly. One of my co-workers just up and quit. I had a vacation planned for next week. That now is on hold. We can’t run the office with her not there. I hate to sound so selfish but I think she was the one being that way. She gave no thought to anyone else. I needed this time alone, as the boys are heading to Florida for the entire week. My boss saw how upset I was and he told me I would still get some time off… but he is not sure how much.

Add to this my disappointment with the seeming lack of caring with my post. Nope, not a good day at all. I will finish this with the poem I wrote right after 9-11…. my way of venting I guess.

Mankind

Why is it that you cannot cry?

Why can you not feel the sorrow of

a nation full of pain and heartache?

The pain felt when a loved one is lost?

Is your heart closed and full of ice?

Explain this to me please.

I must know what makes you think

you are a lesser man if you cry.

Are you afraid that other

men will see you as weak?

I ask you today to weep for our children who

are lost in the struggle overseas.

Fear can drive men to do many things,

From lowly peasants to golden kings,

Wars are won and lost in the games we play,

Fields littered with children, never again to see a new day,

I know the game must be played to its end,

Hoping beyond hope it will impend,

Our men and women fighting for freedom,

For a country assailed under a tyrant’s thumb.

I pray for each of you out in the hot sand,

Open your hearts to accept God’s greater plan,

As you march upon a broken down city,

We do not wish to bind you with strife or pity,

Know that your country is with you as you go,

To confront a madman that is not so apropos,

Just remember when it is done and you have slept,

A nation stood with you and we have wept.

God bless all our children today and everyday.
