So many things I know and see,
Knowing you has been the key,
In and out of my life you go,
While my emotions ebb and flow,
Like the tide you seem to rise and fall,
Upon leaving I feel lost as if in a pall.
I know what you have done and said,
And yet you do the opposite instead,
No more lies and no more leaving,
No more of the self-deceiving,
Admit just once that you care,
Make your life self-aware.
In your heart you know it’s wrong,
You see, I know where I belong,
In your arms, happy and content,
Reveling in your strength and scent,
Not apart as you seem to want,
Let us end this small detente.
I know that you will come and read,
This is not where I will concede,
My smile is lost until you return,
As I continue to need and yearn,
For words of comfort and joy,
Patience is what I must employ.
