Having gone into work yesterday to catch up some paperwork, I already know there is approximately 9 orders waiting on me. This time of the year most people are using their time to worry over gift lists, putting up their decorations, and catching the best deals. I wish this were my case. I don’t have time for it. I will be taking in orders to replenish what was bought by consumers for Thanksgiving. The problem here is the buyers had plenty of time to purchase before Thanksgiving, now there is only 2.5 weeks.
Why 2.5 weeks you wonder? Well, let me try to explain this. We are the main distributor and the first link in the chain. Then it goes from me to the warehouse, who sends (trucks) to the main DC’s (Distribution Centers). Once there it has to be coordinated and then trucked to the stores in time for the consumer to purchase before the holidays. Just to give you an idea of the magnitude of this… we have over 80 DC’s that order from us on a normal week. Now they are ordering double and triple regular product lines and adding other products from our line of frozen desserts to their stores.
Needless to say my time spent at work will increase over the next two weeks. There will not be much time or much of my brain left for posting. I will be still here and sharing but not as much as I have been. I would ask Carlo to take up the slack, but that is not fair to him either.
