What motivates readers to comment? What is the protocol for commenting? I go to the same blogs daily and I try (when I have time) to let that person know I was there. I will leave long or short messages depending on how the post inspired me to respond, but always you will know I was there. Sometimes I have to sneak in to read when I have a break at work, which does not always allow me time to leave comments. I will, though, try to go back later in the day and leave something in the comments just to let them know “Hey! I enjoyed reading you today!”

I have noticed that my comments have dropped off. I thought it was the shoutbox so I removed it. There are some blogs out there that no matter what I do, I can’t leave comments. I thought maybe this was my case. Now I am not so sure. I am looking for some knowledge into what it is that brings you to comment. What is it that inspires you to say “Hi! I was here and I enjoyed reading you today.” Have I lost some regular readers? I don’t know because they don’t let me know they were here.

I am by no means what they call a “comment whore”. If I was, my posts would be geared to bring them in. I try to just share a little of me. Things that inspire me or happen in the course of my day. That part of me will never change. I know that many people are busiest this time of year. I know I am, but I will always find time to read you and let you know I was there.

So, explain this will you? Enlighten me… have I lost your interest? Do I not inspire the “hello, I was here today!” comments any longer? Have I gotten off track of what it was that brought you here originally? I still feel like a newbie to this blog world and this one thing has always left me wondering. You are never sure if you have offended someone or if they have just lost interest in what you have to say when the comments start disappearing.

What I do know is that when a comment is left it makes me smile. They brighten my mood and let me know my post was enjoyed. I feel, in that moment in time, that someone enjoyed what they read and they are sharing a part of themselves with me in that moment of time.

Have a great day all! ;-)
