Silence

It is never easy to find out something about a friend you care about the hard way… by having it shoved in your face, rather than telling you themselves. Hence the poem… I needed to vent the one way I know how, so forgive me on this.

Silence

Silence can be a hurtful path to take,
Hearts can be broken and ache,
When you choose to not speak out,
Your closest friends may turn about.

By choosing to keep all thoughts within,
I took a glancing blow to the chin,
Now I hurt and I do not know why,
You could keep such a secret on the sly.

Finding me is just a few buttons away,
The skies have gone from bright to gray,
Excuses abound from your fingertips,
I should have heard it from your lips.

I have been your friend for a long time,
Through thick and thin, hurt and crime,
I will be there for many more things,
Yet now I am flying on broken wings.

Phoenix, October, 2005.
