Well, boys and girls, I have been ordered to move out. I am preparing to go to Texas so that we can help the people of the Houston area. I am glad that we are being given the opportunity to help people recover from Hurricane Rita.
There are, however, a number of problems with this. First, I don’t think I will have neither the chance, nor the desire to post. Sorry, but I expect to be exhausted for the next month or two. Second, and this is the one that I have really been thinking about, I am not psychologically prepared to have to recover bodies of children. As a father of a three year old, I am afraid that I will have to deal with something like that. Even worse, I think, will be me having to deal with my 18, 19, 20 year old soldiers having to deal with that.
Please, Powers That Be, don’t let that be the case. I have some good people that I work with, and they shouldn’t have to deal with that.
I will miss you. Please, save your prayers for me, I will be ok. There are so many people that will be devastated by this, pray for them.
