Political Correctness is Brainwashing

I have, it seems, this obnoxious habit. You see, I cannot resist observing what is going on around me. I try to see everything, and I actually am disappointed with myself if I miss something.

Now, observation is NOT the obnoxious part of the habit.

The obnoxious part is that I feel the need to comment on my observations. As I tell my friends, co-workers and acquaintances, I observe and comment. That is all that I do, observe and comment. Whether they like it or not, that’s up to them. Mind you, my comments are not innocuous little things like, “I like that.” Oh, no. You see, I have to observe and then point out the ridiculous.

If you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you know that I am a soldier, so most of my observations and comments are about work. For instance, today at work, the world exploded. I obviously don’t mean this literally. What I mean is that we had so much going on that all four of the people that work in my office were so busy that if anybody had piled any more onto us, we would probably have snapped. That kind of busy is a good thing, because it makes the time go quickly. Unfortunately, there were a few incidents that happened during the day that forced me to look at my soldiers, shrug my shoulders, and say, “That was pretty f***ing stupid, don’t you think?” The best part is that when they see what I am seeing, they shake their heads sheepishly and say, “Yes, sergeant, that was pretty dumb.”

OK, before you people go off about my choice of language, that is the accepted verbiage in the Field Artillery, and I refuse to edit it just for the sake of brainwashing, errrrrrrr, political correctness.

The point here is that not everyone sees things the same way, and, unless you have the cojones to point out your view, they may think that they are doing the right, most efficient thing.

It’s time that we, as a society, stood up and said, “Self-esteem is good, but when you are incompetent, I’m going to call you incompetent.” I have about had it with people that think they are “all that and a bag of chips” and they are, to quote my redneck buddy, “dumber than a box of poop!” If political correctness (read: brainwashing) tells me that I have to cater to these morons and spoon feed them the truth, then brainwashing be damned, I will call it like I see it.
