Ok, ok. You all seem to be focusing in on food as the main point of my post, and I definitely did NOT mean for that to be the case. I have a friend who is a functional alcoholic, that is to say his drinking does not impede his ability to function at work. I have other friends that chain smoke; I drink WAY too much caffeine; etc.
The overall post was supposed to be about the need for moderation and balance in our lives, not about food and the effects of overeating, or underexercising. I would like to apologize if that is the way it came across, my only defense is that I was suffering from sleep deprivation and it affected my clarity of thought and writing.
