Men, can’t live with them. They won’t let you love them and they REFUSE to communicate.

My son hates me, my hubby… meh… lets not go there and my best friend, sigh… I just not sure what is going on there. He knows all the right things to say, except when they need to be said. He knows I love him to death and would do anything for him… but certain things are kept too private. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their privacy, but when you know that someone has been missing the hell outa you and misses chatting… well, dammit, next time warn me.

I can never call at the right time. I never seem to be able to text at the right time and I feel awkward as hell interupting someone. I have a hard enough time carring on a conversation as it is and if I feel as though I am bothering someone? Well, I go silent. One way conversations are just fucked up.

How bad is it that I have just 4 people that I talk to on the phone? 1 My mother, 2. My step-daughter (that I never talk to), 3. My best male friend, 4. My best girl friend. I have my home number as 1 of my fav 5. I am a sad, pathetic creature.

Between my hubby chasing away most of my friends and me not keeping up with the rest… there just is no one to chat with anymore outside of those 4. My kid only calls me when he wants something or when he is late getting home. My best girl friend doesn’t particularly love my hubby… so we hardly ever talk and I try to call my mom as much as I can between teenager problems and work.

My times to talk freely are far and few between. I have never felt truly confortable talking to anyone in front of the hubby. I don’t know why… so don’t ask. He constrains me for lack of a better word. My thought patterns do not function properly when he is sitting near. Most times, I just get up and move to another room… but then I feel sorta guilty doing so… not that I am doing anything wrong… it just frees that weight of him being near.

Oh well… maybe in the next life.

On the good news front…

The pest got his own place and moved out. Now if he would just get all his shit out of the way… and not come over here every day I would be that much happier.

They got it RIGHT!

The US Supreme Court decided yesterday that the Second Amendment to the US Constitution grants individuals the right to “keep and bear arms.” The thing that I like about this is that all of the people that want to reinterpret the Second Amendment are the same people that won’t tolerate any reinterpretation of the First and Third thru Tenth Amendments, aka “The Bill of Rights.”

I don’t get it, people. The Bill of Rights is one of the main things that keep the federal government out of our business. I don’t know about you, but I definitely do NOT want Hilary Rodham (Whitewater) Clinton or Barack (I refuse to show my country’s colors) Obama or any politician of any stripe telling me my business in my home. Sorry, but our laws are based on British Common Law, and the fundamental principle there is, “A man’s home is his castle.”

If they can take the right to keep and bear arms away, then what’s next? Hmmmmm, how about the right to privacy? There goes abortion. Free speech and press? Then we have government propaganda machines. Hmmmm, I wonder if the people that supported so-called “gun control” realized that if they take away the Second Amendment then floggings and torture are on the horizon. After all, the Eighth Amendment states “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.” There goes the entire philosophy that prison is designed to “rehabilitate” criminals and we go back to punishing them.

I love it when I can honestly say that the Justices got it right (in my opinion, of course), because then I can point out that the numbers that those that support restricting or banning firearms are completely incorrect. They like to say that if guns are banned, nobody will have them. How do they explain that EVERY SINGLE STATE that has passed right to carry and concealed carry laws have shown a drop (you know, a LOWERING) of crimes, gun or otherwise? Did they not listen when criminals convicted of gun crimes clearly stated that the only thing that they feared was an armed victim?

So, now that the Washington D.C gun ban has been ruled to be unconstitutional, I must say that the gun-control fanatics have got to reevaluate their strategies and figure out how they are going to take mine away from me. I hope that they don’t send the police, because I’d hate to shoot a cop doing his job when the real enemies are the ones trying to limit MY civil liberties.

Women are going to be the death of me. I say that because I know way too many women that I care about that drive me crazy. I say that because I know way too many women that I want to get to know that have “issues” that they can’t get past. I say that because I know way too many women that don’t want the man they picked, they want the man they can “make him into.”

None of this really makes sense to me. You see, I am a simple guy. I mean what I say and I accept how things are. I cannot control anyone except me, so I don’t waste my time trying. Yet, I keep meeting people (men do it, too, they just aren’t as subtle) that seem to think that they can control others. Let me clue you in, people, you can’t control whether your hair falls out and you are trying to control a person with free will? Morons…

I am a parent, yet I don’t believe that I can control my kids. They deserve to have me teach them how to make decisions (good or bad), then live with the consequences. We all know that there are consequences in life, so we have to be willing to accept them. There is an old saying: “You can do anything you want as long as you are willing to accept the consequences.” That is a true statement. I can kill someone as long as I am willing to go to jail or die in a death penalty state.

Consequences… Now there is a word. You see, I got out of a bad marriage three years ago, and it took me 18 months to work through my own issues with what she put me through. That’s OK, though, because I wasn’t out there taking all of my anger and frustration out on other women that didn’t deserve it. Unfortunately, I keep meeting women that believe that I deserve to be treated like crap because of what some other guy did to them… I know that I carry emotional baggage and scars around with me, but I don’t try to blame people that I didn’t know for them. I feel that I deserve that same courtesy.

Doesn’t it all come back to treat others as you would like to be treated?

Another Icon Gone

**I would have written this sooner, but I wanted to give this justice and this was one of those that held my emotions too tight to write it properly. The third death in my lifetime that was not related that made me cry. The other two were John Wayne and Elvis Presley… yea, I know, I’m weird that way.

Growing up in the early 70’s was interesting to say the least. My high school years were spent experimenting with many new and wonderful things. Flower power was fading, but Jimi and Janis were still a part of our lives. Heavy Metal bands were becoming the new rage, disco techs were finding their niche and experimenting with pot was the thing to do. I was a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, and a lot into music. The Beatles still were going strong in my part of the world and I did my best to keep up with all of them.

About that time another phenom was hitting the vinyls… comedy. If you didn’t live near a big city, you didn’t get exposure to great comedy… the no holds barred kind, unless you went to the movies. Cheech & Chong and Richard Pryor held most of that niche. Up In Smoke being one of the best that comes to mind. If you didn’t have the spare cash to see a movie, then you bought the record. I remember my copy of Up In Smoke came with a huge rolling paper in the album. The teenagers of my time loved it.

This brings to mind one of the times best… George Carlin. This man almost single handedly changed my views of the world and pretty much started the change in what could and could not be said on TV. He made people think while making them roll with laughter. His views were always controversial and and his humor always struck a cord with someone. I idolized this man.

George… your humor and wit will always be with me and the millions whom you made laugh. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Dude… rest in peace.

In just two days…

My orchid has decided to bloom again this year. This time I am going to keep track of its progress. Now mind you that when I checked it 2 days ago to see if it had enough moisture… there was no indication of blooming again this year. None. No bloom stalk at all.

This is a Lavender Phalaenopsis Butterfly Orchid once it blooms.

Yes, that is my southern drawl you hear… lol   And yes, that was me also oopsing with the video controls at the end… I claim oldtimers… yea, thats it. heh

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health .
Therefore, it’s better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I’m doing it as a public service.

New toys added…

Not to me you silly people! LOL!

What I have done is add a few extras to the blog. Since the invention of widget ready blog designs, things have changed a lot for us that are semi blog designer wannabes. Widgets so far are word press only thingies, but I am grateful they are there.

Now I will take you on a small tour… (bear with me ‘Kay? I like to show off LOL)

If you will look to your right, there is a new and improved side bar. It has a new and upgraded calendar, and if you scan a little downwards there is a spammy thingie that tells you how hard my anti spam program has been working.

Take another little step down and you will see how many feed subscribers there are… the number shocked me!

Another step down the ladder and you will find my floating words thingy that takes all the key search words and puts them into one of those word clouds.

Keep moving folks we are getting a people jam here!

Next on the tour is my :What I am thinking now” twitter box. This is something that I can send text messages too when I am bored and have no one to talk to… which seems to be a lot lately.

The next step down the ladder is a spot where when you get bored you can send me instant text messages. You won’t see a reply but I can get yours… you know… when you are bored and just want to have a one sided chat. heh!

Another step lower and you will see all kinds of stats and comment widgets. They tell how many times you have commented and stuff like that.

In the posts section I have added a place to vote on the post itself and a share this button if you are so inclined. Other stuff is behind the scenes… but this blog has become a new and fun place to play.

I am still working on the image uploader… it just still refuses to cooperate. grrr

So, if you are bored or just whatever… come by and sit a spell, ya hear? :)

BTW - My tattoo is in the design stages with my new graphic artist that has been hired on to do the graphics for the book (slid that one in on ya! heh)… they are gonna happen soon folks!
